The last week has been pretty horrible for me. At the beginning of the week I caught a virus, which gave me a nasty sore throat, runny nose, and a slight fever. I saw my doc, and he said everything was inflamed, and since I am pregnant he didn’t want to take any chances, and he gave me an antibiotic. Well I started taking the antibiotic, and the next day I had an allergic reaction to it, and my body broke out into a rash. I called the doctor, and he said to stop taking the antibiotic, and everything should just run its course.
Of course I missed school Tuesday because I was extremely ill, but I could not miss Thursday because our math teacher does not allow make up exams, and we had an exam, so even though I was still feeling sick, actually worse, I went to school anyway. On top of my head pounding so badly that I could barely think and my throat feeling like it was on fire, I was also about to throw my guts up from morning sickness. Needless to say, I am pretty sure I failed that test. As I sat there taking that test I could barely come up with the answer to 2 * 5 as I worked these equations. So yeah my week has sucked big time. Yesterday was the worse because I knew that I was in no shape to take that test, yet I had no choice.
Our literature teacher let us out early yesterday because we had a nasty snow storm hitting us. I drove home from school pretty freaked out because many times the cars in front of me started spinning and went into the other lane… The roads were very slick and nasty, and I was just praying to get home in one piece. It was probably the worse drive I have had in along time, with a child in the back seat, and one in my womb to worry about. I did make it home, thank God, although it had to have been the worse day I have had in a long time.
My husband came home early as well due to the weather. Shortly after he arrived home the doorbell rang. I was back in bed sick, and he calls up the stairs and said, “It’s for you!” and of course I yelled back down, “I am sick, you get it!” and he said, “It is someone with flowers, and they won’t give them to me!” So I got out of bed, and ran down the stairs with my hubby giving me the evil eye saying, “And they aren’t from me!”
Well I happily take the flowers, and felt sorry for the driver who drove them out to me in a snow storm, but he didn’t seem to mind. I was very curious as to who these mystery flowers were from since I never get flowers from anyone except my hubby, and that is only on holidays.
I pulled out the card on the very beautiful flowers that were complete with a teddy bear hoding a baby teddy bear, and it read:
Many congratulations on the forthcoming expansion pack!
Everyone at EQuinox Magazine!
I was so shocked that I had to read it twice. I could not believe that Paul (my editor at EQuinox) had taken the time to order flowers for me here in America! Also what a very clever and cute way to congratulate me! He is in England, and I know from trying to order something for someone over there once, that with different credit card systems this is no easy feat!
Thank you Paul for being so sweet! You don’t even know how much those flowers perked up my day! They could not have come at a better time. /wipes an overly emotional pregnant tear from her eye. Receiving flowers at all was a complete shock, but I never would have guessed that those flowers would have been from you!
As soon as I find my card reader I will post pictures of the flowers on this post. I am going to save the teddy bear for the baby (It’s first stuffed animal! /cry). I am also going to keep the card and a picture of the flowers and put them in the baby book!
Thanks again Paul, that was one of the sweetest things that anyone has ever done for me!
Paul is a class act.
Glad your day got better! Hope you feel better soon!
