As some of you may know when EOF came out I retired my level 70 Conjuror to play a fae. I started playing my fae templar and got her to level 46, but then my hubby quit playing, and because of him I had not leveled with other people who were leveling faes (he insisted I level with him and not pass him up), and I was left behind by that group, and could no longer find a group. I still did as much solo as I could, and a few collection quests to help me along, but it was a losing battle.
The free server transfer came along, and I seized the opportunity to move back home to Kithicor. I had switched servers twice because my hubby wanted to, and I had to go along with him out of marital devotion or something like that. So now that he has quit, and with the free move, I am finally back home. It is good to be home! Although unfortunately most of my old friends never seem to be on, but when looking for a new guild I did recognize Valor.
It was good to see that some of the old guilds were still there, and there are only a few that I recognize from the beginning. I sent the leaders a tell, chatted with different leaders for a couple of days, and today they invited me in. I went out on my first instance with my conjuror in months to the Obelisk of Blight. I was a bit nervous after playing a templar for awhile, and having not played my conjuror that I would be a little noobish, but once the fighting got going I fell back into my conjuror routine, and well she fits like an old comfy glove! It is good to be playing her again, and I even got a master today! Tis good to be back! Home sweet home:)
I’ve never attempted a server transfer, but you appeared to survive plenty. Oh well, I shall stick to my superstitions still.
My main character is a conjuror and every other class I’ve played has been boring for the most part when compared to my conjuror. I always tend to develop an attachment to my first character and it’s class.
Welcome back home (even though I’m not from Kithicor)!
Definitely, even when I do create alts I always come full circle right back to where I started. It’s almost as if my character has a real mind of it’s own. I log onto my character after hard work of leveling an alt up and becoming bored of it and stare at my character and it is as if my character says to me, “Oh, you thought you were going somewhere, huh?”.
I don’t have much experience with LotRO. I only played the beta, but at that time I was attempting to fend off the MMO addiction, so I didn’t get a very conclusive opinion of the game. As you can see, the “No MMO Addiction” campaign didn’t last long with me.
Me too, and even if I get irritated with class changes I stick with it. It’s like a loyalty thing I guess. Even when I played LotRO and tried the loremaster I felt so weak compared to my conjuror in EQ2. My conj rocks, and you can really feel like you are doing something awesome with the spells. Especially the group ones that rain down rocks or ice upon the enemy.
Yeah after playing LotRO, I have even MORE appreciation for the awesomeness of EQ2!
Glad to see you are back playing a game you still enjoy. I was hoping we didn’t lose a dedicated gamer after your LOTRO let down.
Have fun and happy gaming!
Aye, mate! Next stop for us- PotBS!
