All this time I could not believe that in this game that should so wonderfully support role-playing that you could not sit in a chair. Today I found out, and quite by accident, that you can indeed sit in a chair! Such a marvelous role-playing feature to be sure!
I was waiting on a few friends to get to Tom’s, and bouncing around acting silly as I usually do when visiting him, and I stood on top of a chair, and typed /sit thinking it would sit me like it does on the ground with my legs out to the side. It did not do that at all, and to my surprise it sat me like I should be sat. My friends all ran around and sat in chairs too, and my hubby was even able to sit on a shelf hanging on the wall!
It is good to see there are some surprises to be found:) It was amusing watching all the people coming in and then run up to the chairs trying to figure out how it was done! You can sit on chairs pushed into the table too. It will just pull one out if you do this:) If you didn’t know this already I am glad to have enlightened you:)
Happy Role-Playing!
Just to enlighten your readers even more, the game you are playing is Lord of the Rings Online, 🙂
Some of the emotes in this game are fun, it is a good way to pass the time when waiting for your fellowship to assemble.
Especially in Tom’s house!
Is that Tom as in Tom Bombadil?
Aye! That would be the one!
Omg… just wait until you see him prance around. Not only is it hilarious, but it’s downright accurate. I’m in love with the touches they put into Middle-Earth in LotRO. They really seem to have went the extra mile, and I can’t wait till more is opened up for the exploring.
Hey J…We finally bought LotRo tonight..what server are you on so I can log in and play with ya!KessPS. need help in learning how to play this is game as I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in EQ1 and have forgotten everything learned from that game hehe…
Hey Kess:)I am on the Vilya server:) My name is Adelian:) You are welcome to join our guild too. http://www.guildvanaheim.com We are super helpful:) If I’m not on send a tell to Bump, Taridan, or Taipans.
Kewl…I will make a toon on your server when the servers come back up after patch. =)
In the meantime I’m back to EQ2. Gotta get my evercrack LOL.
Sweetbeans! See you in game:)
Ok…I logged into LoTro last night and tried an elf champion. I got lost right off the bat…had a hard time finding my way around…managed to finish a few quests but overall..all I can say is…HELP!!!!
lol what is your name in game? Put me on your friends list- Adelian
Ok gotta be honest…I logged in quite a few times…played a couple different toons…and I didn’t really get into the game much. I kept getting lost, confused..*dazed look of deer in the headlights* my husband didn’t like the game much either so we have both cancelled our LOTRO at my husband’s request tonight. Sorry Adele =( I just enjoy playing EQ2 more because of familiarity. I wish you best of luck in LOTRO…but to be honest I found it’s not my cup of tea.
I’ll still read all your blog entries on the game to watch and see what y’all are doing…I just found the game to be too close to EQ1 which I really don’t care for either…so…if you want to find me I’ll be on Kithicor server in EQ2 =). My two mains there are Alerica and Mystirica. My list of toons is open on eq2 players…second acct can be found by looking up Goshdarnit *frog swash* =).
Cheers,
Kess
Its ok:) Shouldn’t play anything you don’t like! I just transfered back to the kithicor server:) It was my starting server:) No place like home!
Heh, reading Kesselia’s last post has reminded me about my very first experience with LOTRO.
Being a World of Warcraft player for years, I found this game very complicated at first, and so, too, I had to first buy subscription and then cancel my account=)
But not for long! And I should thank whomever the idea of the Welcome back week belongs to for my returning because as soon as I received the letter I decided to give it another go. And here I am, 22 level human guardian, owning a tiny house in the Shire homesteads, a cute horse whom I refused to rename as I figured it has used to its original name already, and enjoying in-game atmosphere so very much=)
As to this very helpful article, I want to thank you J for making one as the information in it was a revelation to me!=)
Actually, I was looking for any tips on how to lay in bed (I figured it was a fair that since I’ve bought one I shuld be able to lie in it^^), but also was clueless about chair sitting! But now I only have to ‘put 2 and 2 together’ it seems as there is indeed a ‘/liedown’ emote listed on LOTRO Lorebook, so I am guessing I am going to try standing on top of it and /liedown=) Here is is, by the way, – the list of LOTRO emotes at your service http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Category:Emotes
Have only finished furnishing my home yesterday night (or was it morning already?) And you know what? It felt very cosy!
I can’t wait to explore all the places described in the Books! So far I was impressed with what I’ve seen. And really enjoyed visiting some folks (Tom Bombadil, Elrond, Bilbo Baggins and Aragogn themselves!!! It made me shiver a little standing next to them! I’ll probably have a heart attack when I see Gandalf<3)
And probably I need to re-read the books, too =P
Oh wait. What was it about? Ah, sitting! Sorry, got carried away again=)
This was meant to be a 'Thanks' for author's useful article, and it turned into words of praise instead. Once again *blush*
Not sure if this website is still supported by its owner but I'd like to ask if there is any chance to actually move furniture pieces closer to each other? Like chair and table, wardrobe and bed, etc. Any hints would be much appreciated!
The best luck to all the fine adventurers of Middle-Earth!
